UCLA Women’s Volleyball Takes On Marquette In Rainbow Wahine Invitational

The Bruins easily got past San Diego last night and they look to stay undefeated when they face Marquette tonight.

@UCLAWomensVB

Last night, the UCLA Women’s Volleyball team opened the season with a win when the defeated the University of San Diego in three sets, 25-16, 25-12, 25-22. The third set was the toughest for the Bruins even though they managed to close out the set in their favor to sweep the Toreros.

Tonight, the Bruins return to action against the unranked Marquette Golden Eagles. If last night was an easy win, this game should be an even easier win for UCLA because the Golden Eagles are unranked, at least on paper.

But, then again, Hawai’i should have beaten them last night on paper and the Golden Eagles defeated the Rainbow Wahine last night in 5 sets.

So, while Marquette may not be currently ranked, expect them to come out looking to catch the Bruins napping. If that happens, UCLA could find themselves adding a one to the right column instead of the left colum tonight.

And, of course, while Marquette may not be in the Top 25 right now, they are looking to make a case to be added and a neutral site win against #13 UCLA would go a long way to doing that. After all, Marquette returns six letter winners from last season’s team which lost in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament to Washington State.

Go Bruins!!
