There’s only one college football game tonight to start off the weekend and it’s a Mountain West showdown between the New Mexico Lobos and the Boise State Broncos at Albertson’s Stadium in Boise.
Tonight’s game kicks off at 5pm PT and will air on ESPN.
There are some pretty big question marks surrounding both of these teams, but Boise State looks to be the better of the two. The Broncos won their first game of the season a few weeks ago when they defeated the Troy Trojans of the Sun Belt Conference, 24-13. Last weekend, they traveled to Pullman to take on a ranked Washington State team and narrowly lost 47-44 in triple overtime.
By comparison, New Mexico started the season by defeating Abilene Christian 38-13. Last weekend, they hosted New Mexico State. Now, NMSU has been one of the worst football teams in the FBS over the past fifteen years. They haven’t had a winning season since 2002. Over the past four seasons, they’ve won a total of ten games.
Despite all this, the Aggies are also 1-1 after defeating the Lobos, 30-28, last weekend. How embarassing is it to lose to your in-state rival like that?
As both teams play their first Mountain West Conference game of the season, tonight’s game could set the course for the rest of the year.
Tonight’s game kicks off at 5pm PT on ESPN.
