College Football Saturday: #23 Tennessee Visits #24 Florida Gators

There’s a full slate of action today in college football. Of course, the Bruins have one of the earliest start times today with a 9:00 am PT kickoff. But what else is going on elsewhere in college football?

Well, the most interesting game for Bruin fans might be the 12:30 matchup between SEC foes Tennessee and Florida. Why? Because the Vols are ranked 23rd and the Gators are 24th, which means that a win by the Bruins pretty much assures that they will move up in the polls unless the game gets crazy and causes the voters to not drop the loser out of the Top 25.

The other early game that could be pretty interesting has #10 Wisconsin visiting BYU. When Bronco Mendenhall was coaching BYU, the Cougars were always a good football team. But Mendenhall left for Virginia last season and Kalani Sitake is now in his second year at the helm.

So far this season, the Cougars are 1-2 and they’ve lost their last two games. If they lost to the Badgers today at home, their season could start to spin out of control.

In the Pac-12, Oregon State meets #21 Washington State at 2:30 on Pac-12 Networks. It’s the first conference game for both teams. By all accounts, this should be an easy win for the Cougars. The Beavers are just 1-2 so far this season with losses against Colorado State and Minnesota. But, at the same time, Wazzou went to triple OT against Boise State before coming away with a 47-44 victory.
