College Football Friday: #5 Southern Cal Visits #16 Washington State

It’s been a bad week for the Trojans. Their basketball team is a mess. Losing to the Cougars would make it worse.

It’s College Football Friday!

There are four games on tap tonight. One of the four games is already underway with the #14 Miami Hurricanes visiting the Duke Blue Devils in an ACC matchup on ESPN. In that game the Canes lead the Blue Devils 14-3 in the second quarter.

Two more games start here in a few minutes when the Nebraska Cornhuskers play the Illinois Fighting Illini and the BYU Cougars take on interstate rival the Utah State Aggies.

But, the fact is that the game to watch tonight is being played on the Paloose when the #5 Southern Cal Trojans head to Pullman, Washington to battle the #16 Washington State Cougars.

This game has the potential to affect the College Football Playoff if the Cougars can beat the Trojans. Frankly, with the way the Trojans have played so far this season, I fully expect the Washington State to topple them tonight.

After all, the Trojans needed overtime to beat a Texas team that lost to Maryland and it wasn’t until late in the game last weekend against UC Berkeley that they finally pulled away.

And, don’t forget about #Pac12AfterDark. You never know how it’s going to work, but it always seems to. Just ask Stanford’s third-string quarterback.

This is your Friday night college football open thread.

Go Bruins!!!
