As many of us will be getting ready for tailgating at the Rose Bowl this weekend, we cannot help but recognize the fact that college football is on the back burner for many on the East Coast. This weekend’s games have been greatly affected by Hurricane Irma. Alcorn State and Florida International were originally scheduled to play on Saturday, but the game has been moved to this evening and will be played in Birmingham, Alabama. University of Central Florida and Memphis were scheduled to play tomorrow, and after the game was moved to this evening, the game was cancelled entirely to allow people to prepare for the hurricane’s impact.
Remaining games include #11 Oklahoma State at South Alabama and Ohio at Purdue, both at 5:00. I’m pulling big for the South Alabama Jaguars tonight, as they are hosting a big opponent and will definitely get closer to filling their 33,471-seat stadium. The Jags’ football program has only been in existence since 2008, and has been an FBS school since 2012. Besides, USA’s quarterback, Cole Garvin, has only thrown one interception in 95 pass attempts.
Here is the full schedule for tonight:
