I think it was pretty obvious that the Alabama Crimson Tide had a bone to pick with Clemson when they faced off in the FBS football playoffs. Alabama made it look easy, while Clemson just didn’t look like the team that had beaten Alabama one year earlier. On the other hand, Georgia and Oklahoma took it into overtime, and some would say that Georgia didn’t win so much as Oklahoma lost their playoff game.
Tonight, the college football season officially comes to an end when Alabama and Georgia face off at 5:17 PM PT. If former Alabama senate write-in candidate Nick Saban wins tonight, he will tie legendary Alabama coach Bear Bryant with six championships (one was from his tenure at LSU, which was split with Southern Cal). Georgia could be looking at it’s first title since 1980, and with the game taking place in Atlanta, the state of Georgia might actually implode if the Bulldogs can pull off the win. At any rate, the national title will once again go to an SEC school, with the odds currently in Alabama’s favor, who is projected to win by four points.
