Tonight’s games will kick off at 4:00 pm on ESPN with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets visiting the Louisville Cardinals. Georgia Tech finally won last week against Bowling Green after losing three in a row to South Florida, Pitt, and Clemson. So, if they want to keep stacking up W’s, they’ll have to expose Louisville as they put themselves back together after losing Lamar Jackson. Unfortunately, the Cardinals are tied for fifth-most in interceptions in the FBS. That means that the Yellow Jackets could very well walk away with a win if they limit their own turnovers and penalties, which were a problem in their three losses this season.
The BYU-Utah State contest in tonight’s third slot will definitely be the most interesting. The BYU Cougars not only lost to the Utah State Aggies last year 40-24 on the road, but they also got blown out by Washington last week, 35-7. While these scores are pretty bad, both BYU and Utah State are looking a lot better this year offensively, and it’s pretty safe to say that both of these teams will end up in some sort of bowl game at year’s end.
If you look up odds and predictions, Vegas has BYU winning by a hair, but other analysts have Utah State taking this one, so it looks like it’s anyone’s game at this point. It’s obvious that BYU’s success has come when they have gained yards on the ground, so in order to get retribution for last year, they’ll probably want to expose Utah State’s defensive line and ground out as many yards per carry as they can since they only had a total of 125 yards rushing in both losses, but 535 in their three wins.
There are a total of three college games being played tonight. Here is the full schedule:
