College Football Late Saturday: #Pac12AfterDark Games Show Some Promise

Besides UCLA-Washington, Utah visits Stanford while UC Berkeley visits Arizona and Washington State travels to Oregon State.

With the UCLA Bruins kicking off at 4:30 pm PT, you probably won’t really need to know about most of today’s late games. At the same time, if the Huskies turn today’s game into a blowout, you might find yourself tempted to switch the channel from your beloved Bruins.

Kicking off a half-hour after the Bruins and Huskies is the #6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the #24 Virginia Tech Hokies on ABC. This game looks really competitive on paper, especially considering that the Irish are visiting Blacksburg. Can Justin Fuente and the Hokies upset the Irish today? I’m not sure, but it should be a really interesting game.

Other than that, there are three other #Pac12AfterDark games that you can tune into later. The first has the Washington State Cougars heading to Corvallis to face the Oregon State Beavers at 6 pm on Pac-12 Networks. At 7 pm, next week’s opponent the UC Berkeley Golden Bears head to Tucson to face the Arizona Wildcats and new coach Kevin Sumlin. I think the Bears take this one.

Finally, at 7:30 pm on ESPN, you’ll find what should be a great game between the Utah Utes and the Stanford Cardinal. This game might be the best one of the night and, frankly, I’m not sure how the Bruins game got selected for the 4:30 pm slot on Fox over this game.

Here’s today’s complete late schedule:
