Grab some leftover turkey, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce, slap it on some bread, and settle in for a full Friday of college football.
We’ll see the best games in the afternoon and evening, with #9 Central Florida taking on in-state rival South Florida Bulls at 1:15 pm PT. The UCF Knights are on a roll to finish their second undefeated season in a row and to prove to the world that they should have had a seat at the adults’ table at Thanksgiving yesterday. Some might be rooting for UCF to lay an egg, but I’m pretty sure we’ll hear the Knights once again complaining that they deserve to be in the college football playoffs this year.
In the top match up, we’ll have the #6 Oklahoma Sooners at the #13 West Virginia Mountaineers at 5:00 pm PT. Oklahoma is on a six-game win streak and is looking to make a late bid for the college football playoffs. With defense being a weakness for the Sooners and the reason that Mike Stoops lost his job earlier in the season, the Mountaineers will be looking to upset the Sooners and hand them their second loss of the season. Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray has been putting up video game stats and is pretty much the only reason they’ve had such a successful season. West Virginia might be posed to finally beat the Sooners and cause havoc in Norman.
Finally, at 5:30 pm PT, we have the #16 Washington Huskies at the #8 Washington State Cougars in the Apple Cup. I think it’s always awesome when a division champion comes down to a rivalry game and we finally have it. It’s been forever since the Huskies and the Cougars have been great at the same time (have they ever?). So, tonight’s game will decide who will play Utah in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Washington’s Jake Browning will be playing in his last Apple Cup. So, look for him to make a statement on his way out.
Here is the full slate of today’s games:
