The Washington Huskies will be the home team taking on the Utah Utes at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. The last time these two teams met in September the Huskies took an easy win, 21-7. But a lot has changed since then and it will probably be a better game than the last match-up.
This is Washington’s second trip to the Pac-12 Championship Game and Utah’s first. If Washington wins, they’ll have their third ten-win season in a row and their second conference championship, a first in program history. If Utah takes it, they’ll reach ten wins for the fourth time in the last ten years.
We’ll see the last conference game played by Washington quarterback Jake Browning, who has certainly earned his place among top Pac-12 quarterbacks. He has passed for almost 11,800 yards, and completed 64.7% of his passes while throwing for the Huskies. He has 94 touchdowns in his career and will most likely be playing on Sundays if he wants to. Let’s not forget top running back Myles Gaskin, who has 60 career touchdowns of his own, and will more than likely run one or two more in before his collegiate career is over.
While Washington is favored by 4.5 (which is nothing, if you ask me), the Utes aren’t going to take things lying down. They have a top notch defense that ranks #15 in total defense, and 16th in defensive touchdowns.
This game is going to be a battle of wills between the champs of the North and the South with a trip to the Rose Bowl on the line for the winner.
This is your Pac 12 Championship Game Thread.
