Tom Herman has the Longhorns in the Big 12 Championship Game in just his second season in Austin.

It’s Championship Saturday!

Today, most of the Power 5 conferences will play their conference championship game. Of course, the exception is the Pac-12, which had to play their game last night due to Larry Scott allowing TV partners to dictate when the game can be played. Washington won last night’s game, 10-3. As a result, the Huskies look to be headed to the Rose Bowl as the Pac-12 will likely be left out of the College Football Playoff. AGAIN.

Today’s first championship game features the #14 Texas Longhorns and the #5 Oklahoma Sooners. This game will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas at 9 am PT. It’s worth noting that Tom Herman has his Longhorns playing in the Big 12 Championship in just his second year at the helm after a mediocre first season last year. Meanwhile, Lincoln Riley led the Sooners to a 10-1 record. Of course, that one loss came in the Red River Shootout when the Longhorns edged the Sooners, 48-45. This is the game to watch this morning.

There are only two other early games that will be televised nationally. The first features the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns taking on the Appalachian State Mountaineers at 9 am on ESPN. The second game has the UAB Blazers taking on the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders at 10:30 am PT on CBS Sports Network.
