College Football Late Championship Saturday: #1 Alabama Faces #4 Georgia

The Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs meet for the SEC Championship later today.

With the Red River Rematch almost finished, it’s time to figure out what games you’re going to watch the rest of today.

The first game to watch, at least until the SEC Championship Game kicks off, is the Big Game between the Stanford Cardinal and the UC Berkeley Golden Bears. This game was rescheduled from two weeks ago when the air quality in the Bay Area was poor due to smoke from the Camp Fire, which burned near Chico. Since there were no implications on the Pac-12 Championship Game, the schools and the conference rescheduled the game for today. It kicks off at Noon PT on Pac-12 Networks.

The SEC Championship Game will kickoff at 1 pm PT on CBS. This game features the best overall match-up today. It pits the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide against the #4 Georgia Bulldogs. This game could prove to be an elimination game for the loser as both #5 Oklahoma and #6 Ohio State are hoping to find their way into the College Football Playoff.

At 5 pm, there are a pair of championship games that will kickoff. On ABC, the ACC Championship Game will feature the #2 Clemson Tigers against the unranked Pittsburgh Panthers. Meanwhile, Fox will have the Big 10 Championship between the #21 Northwestern Wildcats and the #6 Ohio State Buckeyes. Personally, I expect both of these games to be easy wins for Clemson and Ohio State.

If neither of these games is competitive, you can always flip over to the Mountain West Championship Game on ESPN. That game kicks off at 4:45 pm PT and features the #25 Fresno State Bulldogs and the #22 Boise State Broncos. At least that game has a pair of teams ranked closely in the polls and which should make for a good match-up.
