Recruiting Update 20181217

With the early signing period beginning 12/19, several recruits are key to a successful recruiting year. Assuming we manage to sign our commitments then reinforcements for the offensive line (3), inside linebacker (1) and quarterback (1) will be part of the class. However, depth will still be an issue in many areas over the next two years. Here is our remaining wish list.

We will look to sign play now guard Sataoa Laumea (6’ 4" 305) (Crystal Ball: UCLA 100%) and hope to flip play now tackle Jason Rodriguez (6’ 6" 326). This will buffer our losses (Andre James, Justin Murphy) and set us up for post 2019 (2 seniors).

We are going head to head with USC on Nick Figueroa (6’ 5" 270) (replace Rick Wade post 2019) and Laiatu Latu (6’ 5" 237) (scheduled to announce 12/31) to help offset the loss of Jalen Phillips. Siale Liku (6’ 4" 330) will add depth at interior defensive line (currently leaning towards UC Berkeley).

We need to sign Cade Albright (6’ 5" 210) or Ralen Goforth (6’ 2" 224) (leaning toward USC) to backup Bo Calvert at outside linebacker post 2019.

We need to flip Joshua Calvert (6’ 2" 220) or sign Daniel Heimuli’s (6' 2" 225) (leaning toward Washington) to shore up our inside linebacker corps (graduate 4 in 2019).
