As Hurricane Florence prepares to make landfall, the schools in the storm’s path have been altering their plans for this weekend’s college football games.
Obiviously, there are much more important other than college football due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Florence. And, of course, the safety of everyone in the areas are clearly much more important than football and we encourage everyone to heed the warnings about the storm and get out of its path, but we’re a site that focuses on college sports. So, if we are focusing on how the weekend’s schedule is affected, that’s why.
As I write this, four games have been cancelled all together while two more have been postponed and times have been changed for others.
That brings me to today’s schedule.
There are three games on tap today. The first one, which will be played between the Old Dominion Monarchs and the Charlotte 49ers, was originally scheduled for Saturday, but has been bumped up to today at 1 pm PT. This game will be streamed by ESPN.
The second game will be played two hours earlier than originally scheduled. That game features the Boston College Eagles visiting the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in the ACC opener for each team. Both teams come into this game undefeated so this an important ACC matchup. This game will still air on ESPN.
The final game being played today has Tennessee Tech visiting the Utah State Aggies in a game only available on Facebook.
Of these games, the BC-Wake Forest game is obviously the best of the lot. It’s also the only you can watch without resorting to streaming the game. I’ll be pulling for Boston College in this one as the son of one of my high school teammates is a freshman for the Eagles.
