College Football Saturday: #12 Oregon Ducks Meet #25 Washington Huskies in a Pac-12 North Battle

This Pac-12 game is one of just three games today between a pair of ranked teams.

What color uniforms will the Ducks be wearing this afternoon when they visit the Huskies?

It’s another Saturday without Bruin football, but that’s ok because the UCLA Bruins finally beat the Stanford Cardinal on Thursday night. So, that means that, if you’re looking to watch some college football today, you’ve got to find a game which doesn’t involve the Bruins.

There are six games at 9 am PT this morning which involve ranked teams, but none of them feature a pair of ranked teams playing each other. In fact, just three games today involve a pair of ranked teams playing each other.

At 9 am, the #3 Clemson Tigers visit the Louisville Cardinals on ABC. Obviously, Clemson should win this one easily, but it might be nice to watch a team which can be counted on to win all the time.

Alternatively, the #5 Oklahoma Sooners host the West Virginia Mountaineers on Fox at 9 am. If Clemson can be counted on to win their game, the same goes for the Sooners when they play the Mountaineers.

At 12:30 pm PT, we finally get a pair of ranked teams playing one another when the #12 Oregon Ducks head north to play the #25 Washington Huskies in a Pac-12 conference game. This game could ultimately determine who wins the Pac-12 North and you know that means it will determine who UCLA plays in the Pac-12 Championship Game after the Bruins run the table now that Chip Kelly has the program headed in the right direction.

Hey, one can dream right? Especially after the Bruins beat Stanford! I just hope that the BN FanPulse confidence poll doesn’t jump from less than 5% to somewhere near 50% without any sign that Kelly can get UCLA to play consistantly well. It’s ok to be happy the Bruins finally beat the Cardinal. But to read anything into that other than the fact that they beat the worst Stanford team in 12 years on Thursday is waaaaaaaaaaaay too optimistic. Let’s at least wait until they prove they can put a solid effort together for a few weeks in a row.

That concludes this morning’s mini-editorial. Let’s look at all of today’s games.
