College Football Late Saturday: Utah Looks to Win the Pac-12 South Title

The Utes are looking to claim the Pac-12 South title with a win today over the Colorado Buffaloes.

The only thing standing in the way of Utah winning the Pac-12 South is the Colorado Buffaloes.

If the Utah Utes can beat the Colorado Buffaloes when they meet tonight on ABC, the Utes will win the Pac-12 South and face the Oregon Ducks next Friday in the Pac-12 Championship Game. If the Utes lose to the Buffs, Southern Cal wins the South.

So, while the Utes thoroughly embarrassed the Bruins a few weeks ago, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Utah is the second favorite team of UCLA fans today since Southern Cal’s regular season is over.

Before Colorado and Utah kickoff, the #2 LSU Tigers square off against the Texas A&M Aggies, who are a respectable 7-4 this year. Can Jimbo Fisher pull off an upset tonight in Death Valley? If the Aggies do and Utah wins, it could allow the Utes to move into the Top Four in the CFP rankings. This game kicks off at 4 pm on ESPN.

Another late game of note today doesn’t have really have many postseason implications is the #Pac12AfterDark game between the Arizona Wildcats and the Arizona State Sun Devils at 7 pm on ESPN. Sure, if the Sun Devils win, they may improve their bowl game slightly as they will finish 7-5 instead of 6-6 and an ASU win could result in today’s game being Kevin Sumlin’s last with the Wildcats, who are currently 4-8.

Here’s today’s complete list of late games.
