College Football Late Saturday: UC Berkeley Hosts Washington State

The early games are now in the books. How about that Minnesota upset of Penn State?!? The Golden Gophers should earn some respect after today’s win.

Let’s look at today’s late games.

There’s only one late Pac-12 game today. That’s the 4 pm PT game between the Washington State Cougars and the UC Berkeley Golden Bears. Both teams come into this one with 4-4 records and 1-3 records in the Pac-12. The loser of this one will have a tough time becoming bowl-eligible as they will need to win both of their final two games of the season to do so. UC Berkeley has the edge here because the Cougars haven’t won a road game yet this season.

The #6 Georgia Bulldogs will look to get back into the Top Four now that Penn State has lost and the game between the LSU Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide will be decided. The Bulldogs hosts the Missouri Tigers in an SEC Conference game at 4 pm PT on ESPN.

Another team hoping to get back into the College Football Playoff picture is the #5 Clemson Tigers. Clemson visit the North Carolina State Wolfpack at 4:30 pm on ABC. This game should be a blowout because the Wolfpack is just 1-3 in a weak ACC this season.

The #9 Oklahoma Sooners are also trying to claw their way back into the playoff picture. The Sooners host the Iowa State Cyclones this evening at 5 pm PT on Fox. Even if Oklahoma wins today, they are going to have an uphill road to climb to get back into the race to make the CFP.
