This year’s Pac-12 Championship Game looks to be a good one as the Oregon Ducks and the Utah Utes did not play each other this year during the regular season.
It’s the game that Pac-12 fans have been waiting to see.
While the Ducks won the North weeks ago, the Utes did not secure their berth in tonight’s game until last weekend.
The Ducks got to tonight’s game by winning their first seven conference games before losing to Arizona State, 31-28, on November 23rd. It was their only conference loss of the season and just their second of the year. Oregon lost their season opener against the Auburn Tigers, 27-21.
Meanwhile, the Utes won the Pac-12 South by winning their final eight conference games. Their lone loss of the season came in Week 4 of the season when they lost to Southern Cal, 30-23.
Prediction
Utah is a 6.5-point favorite in tonight’s game and and the Over/Under for the game is 46 points.
The key to this game seems to be how many points the Utes score. Personally, I think the Over/Under number is too low. The Utes have put up 45 points or more in two of their last three games. Granted, one of those was against Jerry Azzinaro’s defense. So, take that with a grain of salt. But the Utes have been held under 30 only twice this season. Southern Cal held Utah to just 23 points when they beat the Utes while Arizona State held them to 21 points. It didn’t matter because Utah held the Sun Devils to just a field goal.
But, I think these two offenses are going to light up the scoreboard tonight. That said, I still think Utah wins easily by at least two touchdowns.
