College Football Saturday: Michigan Visits Wisconsin in a Big Ten Battle

Plus, there’s a lot of Top 25 action this morning and afternoon.

NCAA Football: Michigan at Wisconsin
The game between Michigan and Wisconsin should be the best early game today.

It’s had to believe it’s already Week Four of the 2019 college football season. At the same time, it’s already been a long season for UCLA Bruins fans. Since the Bruins don’t play until tonight, let’s take a look at today’s early games.

This morning, things get started with a trio of games featuring SEC teams. ESPN’s 9 am game has the Tennessee Volunteers visiting the #9 Florida Gators while, over on ESPN2, the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide are prepared to crush the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The third SEC 9 am game has Ed Orgeron and the #4 LSU Tigers visiting the Vanderbilt Commodores. Honestly, by themselves, none of these really stick out as a game to watch, as the unranked team in each game really doesn’t stand much of a chance of upsetting their ranked opponent, but each of these games does feature a team ranked into the top 10.

Now, if you’re looking for a match-up of two good teams, you’ll want to tune in to Fox for today’s matchup which has the #11 Michigan Wolverines taking on the #13 Wisconsin Badgers. While Michigan is currently ranked higher than the Badgers, the Wolverines are the visiting team in this one. So, I think Wisconsin holds the edge in this one.

The 12:30 window has a similar structure to the 9 am window. There’s only one matchup between top 25 teams and that’s the game which has the #8 Auburn Tigers visiting the #17 Texas A&M Aggies. That game looks to be the best of the 12:30 games and it will be broadcast on CBS.

ABC and ESPN2 have a pair of games which will be shown to about half the country on one channel and the other half on the other. That means that the #22 Washington Huskies game at the BYU Cougars will probably be the ABC game here on the West Coast while ESPN2 will probably have the #15 UCF Knights taking on the Pittsburgh Panthers. Of course, that means if you’re on the East Coast, expect those channels to flip.

Now, if your TV provider carries the Big Ten Network, you may want to check in on the #6 Ohio State Buckeyes who host the Miami (Oh) Redhawks.

That pretty much covers the best games in the early part of the day, but here’s the full slate so you can find a game that may interest you:
