Bruin Softball Updates 11/15/2020

The latest entrant into the transfer tracker is UCLA’s Alana Snow. The UCLA senior was a member of the Great Britain National team (.500 4 RBI 8R 2 steals) that reached the final game of the Olympic qualifier against Italy. Primarily a pinch hitter/runner appearing in 30 games in 2 years (2019/2020 1 hit, 9 runs, 1RBI). With an intact starting lineup that added Bubba Nickles and Rachel Garcia and with super subs Malia Quarles and Julie Rodriguez waiting in the wings, Snow will try to look elsewhere for playing time.

UCLA’s 2021 signing class was announced. At the top of the class is Savannah Polamalu (top ten prospect), who has been committed to the Bruins since the eighth grade. She provides crucial depth in a depleted infield, another left-handed bat in the lineup and another NFL relation to the stands (Troy Polamalu). Jayla Castro (Top 50 Prospect) another long term commit, adds depth at catcher and power to the lineup. Taylor Stephens (Top 100 Prospect) another infielder also adds "absolute terror on the bases" speed to the lineup. Kate Blunt brings flexibility as a utility player (even played baseball for her high school) and a cannon for an arm. Lauren Hatch another speedy left hander will add much needed depth to the outfield.
