‘Early’ National Signing Day is rapidly approaching and though the Pac-12 football season isn’t even over at this point for the UCLA Bruins, you can bet they’re hard on their top remaining undecided targets for the Class of 2021.
And with that said, here are the top remaining undecided targets that UCLA is after and what or when we can expect to see from those players across the next few days.
RB Byron Cardwell
Cardwell stands as the highest-ranked player on UCLA’s top target board. His 247Sports page gives us no indication of a prediction of his commitment and he’s scheduled to announce his commitment next year on January 25.
DE Tiaoalii Savea
Savea is a four-star defensive end on the 247Sports Composite hailing from Desert Pines in Las Vegas. He’s considered a slight Nebraska lean at this point and would appear to be a long shot for UCLA to secure his services despite just losing defensive end commit Devin Aupiu last week to Notre Dame.
ATH Titus Mokiao-Atimalala
The second-best player available from Hawaii this circuit, 247Sports says he’s a slight lean towards USC. A four-star athlete, Mokiao-Atimalala is a two-way player and has his biggest impact in the college game like to come as a wide receiver. He’s in the mold of a John Ursua, currently with the Seattle Seahawks.
G Josh Simmons
Simmons stands as the highest-ranked player on UCLA’s big board to be considering a Group of 5 program instead of a Power-5. 247Sports has Simmons leaning towards San Diego State but does consider multiple other Pac-12 schools as ‘warm’ for his commitment. That, however, doesn’t include UCLA.
RB Alton McCaskill
UCLA may be ‘cool’ on his board right now but with the way Demetric Felton is running the ball, it wouldn’t be a surprise for any running back prospect to want to turn up his interest in the Bruins. McCaskill has offers from at least 32 schools and has USC up there, unfortunately.
RB Deshun Murrell
Scheduled to commit on December 18, UCLA is considered the heavy favorite to land his services. We’ll be on the lookout here as the battle is set between the Bruins and Penn State.
DE Arden Walker
Committing on Signing Day, it is expected that Walker will stay in-state and commit to Colorado but the three-star defensive end does still have Texas and UCLA in his top. This is one of the big ones to see if the Bruins can flip his services away from Colorado, both the state and the program.
DE Keith Cooper
No predictions for Cooper at this time but the big defensive end from Texas has at least 30 scholarship offers from programs across the country. He would be another big get if UCLA could scoop him from Texas, especially considering the loss of Aupiu.
RB LJ Johnson
The first of the ‘high choice’ prospects, Johnson is seemingly down to just two programs for his services, Texas A&M and Texas. UCLA remains just that, a ‘high choice,’ but don’t look forward to this too much.
ATH Devin Kirkwood
We all know Kirkwood was once a UCLA commit and the loss to USC probably didn’t do any favors for Chip to re-land him. In fact, it’s looking like a long shot for Kirkwood to commit to anyone besides the Trojans at this rate.
We’ll be live on Signing Day bringing you everything we can during the most exciting ‘offseason’ time in college football — except this time around — it’s during the season.
2020 is weird.
