It can be argued that UCLA is the most famous sporting university in America. From now-famous athletes who have transcended their sport to athletes who broke down barriers, literally and figuratively, UCLA athletics have decorated history far and wide.
There’s a baseball player who broke the color barrier and was once a four-sport athlete at UCLA. A tennis player who now has the most prestigious courage award named after him. Then there’s the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. There’s a three-time college basketball Player of the Year.
How about two of their respective sports most recognized color commentators as well? Or the multiple upon multiple gold-medal winners at the Olympics who dot the UCLA alumni lists.
It’s an incredible ask, but in an unprecedented time in American History, we take our turn at it here on Bruins Nation:
— Who would you rather be stranded on a desert island with among ALL the UCLA alum?
Pick five (5) current or former UCLA athletes and feel free to give a reason why you’d like to be stranded with them below in the comments.
