What’s Bruin: Recruiting classes taking shape & more All-Americans

Big things continue to happen amid the coronavirus pandemic

There may not have been a live sporting event for the past 50+ days, yeah thanks Adam Schefter for reminding us all of the countdown, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but there are still some big things happening in and around college athletics. Your UCLA Bruins are no different.

Recruiting cycles are still actively going on, and at that, they may even be more ‘ramped up’ this year than ever before. Everything is switching to a virtual reality and coaches are freed up from the countless hours at their respective gyms, fields or weight rooms to make calls, organize meetings and keep the pressure on potential recruits at will.

UCLA’s football team just picked up a big-time recruit who was named to the Polynesian Bowl All-Star team and the rest of the UCLA athletics teams are no different as well.

Then there’s postseason honors, as difficult as those are to swallow for those teams who didn’t get the proper culmination to their respective sport seasons. There have been plenty of highlights from shortened seasons as well as records that were going to be broken just the same if the seasons weren’t cancelled.

Reminder that a new record was established for most Athletic Director’s Honor Roll members from the winter semester.

So, with all of this in mind, let’s take a look at some of the big things happening in and around the UCLA campus during the past week.
