Sure it’s no NFL draft but the MLB Draft 2020 is surely set to be one of the summer’s biggest attractions to date. With the coronavirus suspending all professional sports until at least later this month, the MLB Draft’s 2020 version is likely to be the most watched or at least most discussed in some time.

With the lack of actual, new sports news in the media today, the draft will capture headlines and captivate audiences unlike years prior when it just kind of ... well ... goes on during the middle of the season.

The first and second rounds of the MLB draft are set to air Wednesday, June 10 and Thursday, June 11.

The Detroit Tigers have the first overall selection and while it’s rumored to be essentially a lock with Arizona State’s Spencer Torkelson, UCLA’s own Garrett Mitchell has seen his name mocked in the top six selections but mainly in the 13-20 range.

It’s almost a guarantee that he’ll be selected within the first night’s coverage, and here’s how to watch it:

Day 1

How: ESPN will be airing the coverage as will MLB Network and can be streamed on Hulu and Sling.

When: Wednesday, June 10

Time: 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT

Stream: MLB.com

TV: ESPN, MLB Network

Who: Garrett Mitchell, all 6’3, 215 of him finished his UCLA career with a .327 batting average and 24 doubles to go with six home runs. He’s the UCLA record holder for single-season triples as he hit 12 in 2019.

Happy drafting, and good luck Garrett! We’ll be fans of whoever you’re selected by.
