The UCLA Bruins class of 2021 saw a big burst over the past week, grabbing several commitments including three-star running back prospect Deshun Murrell from Bibb County High School in Centreville, Alabama.
Murrell had 34 scholarship offers from just about any Power-5 or Group of 5 school that saw his tape and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him rise in the recruiting rankings if his senior season pans out. He’s 5’11, 185 pounds and ran for 2,174 yards and 33 rushing touchdowns on 269 carries a season ago.
He committed to UCLA without venturing out to campus due to the coronavirus shutdown, pledging his allegiance to RB coach DeShaun Foster.

Murrell became commit No. 8 for the class of 2021 as head coach Chip Kelly and Co. have continued their hot streak that they started last month. For this class, they now have seen 7-of-9 total commits pledge over the past month, either in mid-to-late May or June.
Murrell is ranked as the 64th-best running back and 32nd-best overall player in the state of Alabama by 247Sports as he garnered Class 5A First-Team All-State honors as a junior.
His highlights clearly show why:
