The coaching staff for the UCLA Bruins added a decorated former college player with the addition of Keanon Lowe, who is also a rising star in the coaching ranks.

Lowe joins the staff as an analyst after previously being the head coach at West Linn High School.

He played college football at the University of Oregon, logging 68 career receptions for 891 yards and 11 touchdowns. Lowe was a member of the Ducks team from 2011 to 2014, spending two seasons with Chip Kelly at the helm. Kelly also recruited Lowe to Eugene those many years ago.

Their connection also leapt to the NFL as well where Lowe spent time on Kelly’s coaching staff both with the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Most recently, Lowe made the news for all the right reasons when he disarmed a gunman without violence at Portland’s Parkrose High School in 2019. He won a Congressional Medal of Honor Citizen Honor Award and even appeared on the Today Show as well as other national media.

He was the head coach at West Linn High School where he led the Lions to an 8-4 record and a spot as MaxPreps’ No. 5 ranked high school football program in Oregon.

Welcome to Westwood, Coach Lowe! We’re excited to have such an up-and-coming star and national hero on staff!
