Video Highlights: 5-star UCLA commit Peyton Watson

Watson’s commitment pushed the Bruins class of 2021 into the top 10 nationally

Peyton Watson became commitment No. 2 for the UCLA Bruins class of 2021 when he pledged his services to head coach Mick Cronin and Co. And his commitment pushed the Bruins to No. 7 overall in the national recruiting rankings.

If you wanted to know why he is one of the most sought after recruits in the country and the top player in California, look no further than his highlights that we’ve scraped together from across the web.

Reminder, Watson is the No. 1 player in the state, hails from Long Beach Poly High School and is rated as the the third-best small forward in the class.

His commitment brought forth the fact that he’s compared to current Indiana Pacers SF Justin Holiday as 247Sports projects him as a first-round draft selection.

Small forward with good size, long arms and plus athleticism. Still very physically immature; plenty of room to gain strength in coming years. Has been on significant upwards trajectory since start of high school career. Extremely versatile defender due to size, length, athleticism, instincts and motor. Nice feel as rebounder and weak side shot blocker. Offense has continuously improved due to progress with ball skills and jumper. Very good vision for position. Easy high major starter who should be a first round pick if he continues to improve at same rate.
