The UCLA Bruins Beach Volleyball team is set to welcome a star in their class of 2021 as commit Jessica Smith was recently named the AAU Beach Volleyball Player of the Year.

Smith, who committed to UCLA back in 2018, has racked up an incredible resume over her years in amateur competitions.

According to the AAU’s release, Smith won notable medals at the 18U AAU National Championship, the 16U Division AAU West Coast Junior Olympic Games as well as multiple others. Those other event medals include the Pier 360 Ocean Sports & Beach Festival, the Beach Volleyball Competition in Santa Monica, the AAU Long Beach Open, AAU Dallas TVT Junior Series #9, Volley OC West Coast AAU JO Qualifier, AAU Trophic Swim Open, AAU Winter Series #3 and the Silver at the AAU California Regional Championships.

She’s set to appear on Sports Stories with Danny Lennon as well.

When she committed to UCLA, Smith was ranked as the top recruit in the beach volleyball circuit, and it certainly looks like for good reason.

Congratulations on the honor, Jessica. We can’t wait to have you on campus!
