It’s been reported that the Arizona Wildcats have hired UCLA Bruins WR coach and passing game coordinator Jimmie Dougherty under new head coach Jedd Fisch.
No formal announcement from Arizona has been made but Fisch tweeted out a picture and 247Sports’ Arizona affiliate have reportedly verified the action.

Fisch has made quick work of filling out his staff at Arizona and it’s unknown at this time what position Dougherty will fill on his staff.
We’d expect an official announcement from Arizona at some point but until then, even in speculation, this is a big loss for UCLA. Dougherty has left records at every stop and is clearly an up-and-comer in the industry, so a promotion for him is to be expected.
Dougherty had been with UCLA since 2017 and saw great success as the receiver position under his tutelage. He coached the likes of Theo Howard, Jordan Lasley to records as well as top marks on the UCLA single-season lists and helped Kyle Phillips explode onto the scene. He previously had spent time under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan where he was an analyst on the nation’s 12th-best scoring team in 2016.
With his extensive background in both the Big Ten and Pac-12, it’s a matter of time until he breaks the ranks of head coach, and so this hire is interesting to see what the official title will be once Arizona announces.
