The third-seeded UCLA women’s basketball team (16-5) kicks of their journey in the 2021 NCAA tournament Monday with a Round of 64 matchup with No. 14 Wyoming (14-9). The game will be played at the Frank Erwin Center on the campus of the University of Texas.
Heading into today’s tournament, the Bruins are one of only eight teams to have reached the Sweet Sixteen in each of the last four tournaments.
Senior forward Michaela Onyenwere enters today’s game sitting at sixth overall on UCLA’s all-time scoring list with 1,842 points. With 26 points today, she would eclipse Nirra Fields (1,867, ‘16) for fifth all-time. Depending on how far into the tournament the team goes, she will also have the chance to surpass Rehema Stephens (1,887, ‘92) for fourth all-time in the program’s rankings.
