The UCLA women’s basketball team handled No. 14 Wyoming in the Round of 64 to the tune of 69-48 to move on to second round.
Senior forward Michaela Onyenwere scored a game-high 25 points to go with seven rebounds and a pair of assists. In tonight’s game, she’ll need to make just one basket to pass Nirra Fields (1,867, ‘16) for fifth all-time on the program’s scoring list. If she manages to surpass 22 points, she’ll also leapfrog Rehema Stephens (1,887, ‘92) for fourth place.
The Longhorns are coming off a decisive 81-62 victory over No. 11 Bradley, led by forward Charli Collier who scored 23 points and pulled down 15 rebounds.
Should the Bruins leave victorious tonight, they’ll play the winner of No. 7 Alabama-No. 2 Maryland in the Sweet 16 later this week.
