If you were looking for a reason to finally give up Facebook for good, you may now have it.
In hindsight, it was only a matter of time.
After all, how could a Hollywood exec not look at LaVar Ball and not think reality TV show?
Deadline is reporting that Facebook has given a greenlight to a reality series starring the Ball family. The article quotes Nick Gruden, Facebook’s VP of Media Partnerships:
Our goal is to make Facebook a place where people can come together around video. To help get there, we’re supporting a small group of partners and creators as they experiment with the kinds of shows you can build a community around — from sports to comedy to reality to gaming.
After LaVar’s WWE appearance recently, I’m personally more inclined to consider this comedy than sports or reality.
On one hand, I hope that this series causes the NCAA to rule the two younger Balls ineligible so as to end the LaVar circus at UCLA. On the other hand, it also makes me hope that it forces the NCAA to rethink some of its arcane rules regarding player eligibility.
I just hope UCLA doesn’t get caught in the middle.
Go Bruins!!!
