UCLA held its twelfth practice of Fall Camp yesterday and the offense picked up it’s third consecutive win over the defense, according to Thuc Nhi Nguyen of Inside SoCal.
They won the red zone lockout period by scoring three touchdowns against the defense, earning another victory run. In the period, Bolu Olorunfunmi ran for a 16-yard touchdown while Soso Jamabo bought Josh Rosen some extra time to throw a TD pass to Theo Howard. Meanwhile, Austin Burton threw a 25-yard TD to Eldridge Massington.
On the defensive side, against the second team offense, Greg Rogers had a tackle-for-loss and Mique Juarez had a sack.
Speaking of the defense, one of the things defensive coordinator Tom Bradley spoke about after practice was the fact that Osa Odighizuhwa has been playing more frequently with the first team in place of Matt Dickerson. “This year, we’ve got some depth that we’re going to have to get in there to play,” said Bradley. “We want to give Matt a break and get some more of Osa and those guys in there...and get them as many reps as we can get them so we can see what we can push them to do.”
In addition to Coach Bradley, three of the specialists JJ Molson, Stefan Flintoff and Austin Kent all met with the media after practice yesterday. In general, the theme from them was that they are now better prepared than they were last year because they have a year of experience under their belts.
Before we get to that, let’s look at some of the action from practice yesterday. Thanks to Ed Lewis of the Bruin Sports Report, we have video of the one-on-ones between the offensive and defensive linemen.
Today’s post-practice videos are courtesy of Thuc Nhi Nguyen of Inside SoCal. First up is Coach Bradley.
Now, we have the specialists, starting with JJ Molson and then Stefan Flintoff and Austin Kent.
Thanks again to Thuc Nhi for sharing those videos!
