Poll Watch: UCLA Men's Basketball Drops from the National Polls

New, comments

Just one week after entering the AP top-25 for the first time this season, Steve Alford's Bruins are out again.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Well that didn't last long. UCLA's visit to the top-25 of the AP Poll is over after just one week. However, UCLA Men's Basketball remains in the top-30 in both the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll. Since beating McNeese State tonight probably won't count much with the voters, there's a good chance that Steve Alford's Bruins will begin 2016 on the outside looking in.

The only Pac-12 team appearing in both national polls is Arizona at #8. Utah is ranked 24th in the most recent AP Poll.

After victories against two cupcakes last week, UCLA Women's Basketball's position in the polls is unchanged. The Bruins are ranked 19th in the latest AP Poll, and are 26th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. UCLA's double overtime loss to #21 California yesterday probably won't drastically affect the Bruins position in the polls next week, so UCLA will likely end 2015 in the top-25 of the AP Poll.

Note that the Pac-12 currently has five teams (Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, California and Arizona State) in the top-25 of the AP Poll, with three additional teams (USC, Oregon, and Washington) receiving votes.
