Graduation was last week and summer is in full swing. Let’s see what’s happening in the lives of Bruins.

Miss Val leads an incredibly inspiring and interesting life. Here she is, with husband Bobby Field, former UCLA assistant football coach, celebrating 21 years of marriage.

Both Miss Val and Katelyn Ohashi have become viral sensations in the last couple of years, and Katelyn’s gymnastics career definitely isn’t over even though she has graduated. Take a look at what’s up next.

The Aurora Games take place this August in Albany, New York and are described as “A first of its kind sports and entertainment festival featuring world class competition in women’s tennis, gymnastics, basketball, figure skating, ice hockey and beach volleyball”. UCLA alum Jackie Joyner Kersee will be the Team America celebrity coach.

As you may know, UCLA softball alum Stevie Wisz had open heart surgery last week and, in true Stevie fashion, has had a very successful surgery and we hope she continues her speedy recovery.

We wish her all the best.

Rachel Garcia was honored AGAIN, this time with the Honda Cup, making her the female collegiate athlete of the year. UCLA softball head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez took to Twitter to express her congratulations.

We also have a tweet from Mick Cronin. From the time he was named head coach and turned his UCLA jersey around because “the letters on the front are more important than the letters on the back,” many have said that he just “gets it.” Here, he is spending time with some UCLA greats.

With Wimbledon getting off the ground, we have Bruin Marcos Giron making the cut after three wins in four days.

UCLA alum Griffin Canning is making noise with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Now that we’ve caught up on what’s going on with some familiar Bruins, let’s take a look at some of the newest Bruins. Last Sunday was move-in day for a lot of new UCLA student-athletes.

After moving in on Sunday, Monday was the first day of summer workouts for UCLA football.

Go Bruins!
