UCLA Bruins at UC Berkeley Golden Bears Game Thread

The Bruins head north, still in search of their first win in 2018.

The theme this week has been a renewed sense of hope and optimism surround UCLA Bruins football. I know Joe’s constant saying that “hope is not a strategy”, but in this case it is definitely a nice thing to see after a season of almost-uniformly dispiriting performances. The Bruins showed a level of play against the Washington Huskies that has, at the very least, kept the angst of the fanbase at bay for a week.

Now comes the hard part: sustaining that good feeling.

We’ve previewed UC Berkeley over the past few days (which you can find here for the coaching, here for the offense, and here for the defense), but the time for talk is over. We’ve been in this position before - an encouraging showing against Oklahoma was immediately followed by a huge step backwards against Fresno State - so the Bruins need to prove that all the talk of improvements actually sticks.

Anyway, it’s game time. Make sure you’ve got some of your favorite food nearby (shout-out to Valentino’s Pizza in Long Beach!) or a stiff drink (shout out to this giant tumbler full of whiskey next to me!) because this one could be a doozy.

Let’s look at the game time weather forecast.

Game Time Weather Forecast

Even though the Bruins are heading north, they’ll probably feel right at home thanks to the weather. Kickoff is scheduled to sit at around 71°, with the weather dipping down between 66° and 63° by the end of the game. The forecast also calls for clear skies, so you could not ask for better weather for a football game.
