It’s been a few weeks since we last checked in on the Bruins Nation Fan Pulse. So, let’s take a look at see what Bruin fans are thinking about the direction of the UCLA basketball program under Mick Cronin.
The last time I wrote about the FanPulse poll was two weeks ago after the completion of football season. At that point, 69% of respondents were confident in the direction of the UCLA Bruins basketball program. That poll was taken before the team lost to the Stanford Cardinal, even though the results were not announced until after that game.
The Bruins then beat the California Golden Bears before last week’s results. Last week, the poll came in at 63% confidence.
Following last week’s win against the Oregon State Beavers and loss to the Oregon Ducks, the Bruins Nation FanPulse poll now sits at 56%. Like the week of the Stanford game, voting closed prior to UCLA’s game against Colorado. So, Thursday night’s win over the Buffs has not yet affected the poll.
Let’s look at the history of the poll since the start of the season.

In other news, expectations for the Bruins this year nationwide appear to have been pretty low. That’s because only 4.4% of respondents nationwide said that UCLA has been the biggest disappointment this season, which was the eighth highest out of nine possible choices.
North Carolina is the overwhelming choice as the season’s biggest disappointment at 55.2% while Texas is second at 8% and Virginia is third at 7.8%. Florida came in fifth at 5.7%. Ohio State was chosen by 5.6% while Michigan was selected by just 4.4%. 5.5% of voters selected “Other” and just 3% chose Memphis.
