UCLA Football Coach Jim Mora and several players met with the media yesterday as the team held a photo day for the team and their families at the new Wasserman Football Center. The formal grand opening is Tuesday night for donors.
Matt Joye of Bruin Report Online shared videos of the interviews of Coach Mora, Josh Rosen, Jaleel Wadood and Darren Andrews. Thanks to Matt for sharing the videos.
Coach Mora spoke about the upcoming season as well as the new members of the coaching staff. He mentioned that the coaches have spent quite a bit of time bonding in the off season in preparation for the upcoming season.
Josh Rosen met with the media for the first time since Spring Practice. Rosen said that the team has had an “incredibly productive off-season.” He also spoke about how he “hasn’t said anything stupid on social media,” but also attributed his lower profile to tuning out to that a little. Rosen seemed to place a big emphasis on the player-run practices they’ve held this summer. “With these player-run practice, I think we’re going to be able to get rolling and not start from scratch on Day 1,” Rosen said.
Jaleel Wadood was asked about Rosen because they’ve been teammates since high school. He said that he just needs to do what he’s capable of on game days. He also spoke about what Adarius Pickett brings as a starter
Like Josh Rosen, Darren Andrews also spoke about the team’s offseason workouts. “We want to make sure we’re dialed in,” Andrews said. “We want to go into camp rolling without any hiccups.”
Thanks again to Matt Joye and Bruin Report Online for sharing these videos.
Also on Sunday, the team hosted recruits for a BBQ at the new facility and picked up three commitments in the process from some big recruits. Olaijah Griffin, Matt Tago and CJ Parks all committed to UCLA yesterday.
Be sure to check out our coverage of their commitments!
Go Bruins!!!
