UCLA Football Picked to Finish Third in Pac-12 South

The Bruins were tied with Arizona State with 118 points.

The UCLA Bruins have been picked to finish third in the Pac-12 South in a poll of 35 media members who cover Pac-12 football.

The Utah Utes haves been picked to finish first in the South with 206 points including 33 of 35 first place votes. The Southern Cal Trojans were picked to finish second in the South with 167 points. UCLA is tied for third with the Arizona State Sun Devils. Both schools received 118 points. The Arizona Wildcats received 85 points, which was good for fifth while the Colorado Buffaloes were last with 46 points.

Over in the North, the Oregon Ducks and the Washington Huskies each received 17 first place votes while the Washington State Cougars received one first place vote. The Ducks edged the Huskies for first in the North, 190 points to 189 points. The Stanford Cardinal was third with 108 points while Washington State finished fourth with 108 points. The California Golden Bears finished fifth with 81 points and the Oregon State Beavers was sixth with just 38 points.

Overall, Utah was picked as the favorite to win the Pac-12 Championship Game with 12 votes while Oregon received the second most points to win the conference championship with 11 points. Washingt was chosen by 9 voters as the eventual champ while Southern Cal received 2 votes and Washington State received 1 vote.

While the media has predicted the conference champion 31 of 58 times, they’ve only done it four times out of the last twelve polls.
