Kain Medrano from Pueblo, Colorado has committed to UCLA. He worked out at UCLA as a defensive back, but was offered a position as a wide receiver.
Medrano’s verbal commitment is the seventh for the 2019 class. Medrano made the announcement this afternoon on Twitter.

At 6’3”, 215 pounds, he definitely has the size to play receiver, but could also play on the other side of the ball down the road. When Chip Kelly and his strength and conditioning coaches get a hold of him, he’s sure to add muscle and weight as he progresses through his college career.
Last season, Medrano led the Eagles with 1,272 all-purpose yards and scored 12 total touchdowns on the year.
In addition to UCLA, Medrano also had offers from Wyoming, Colorado State, and Northern Colorado. He also reported that schools like Colorado, Utah, Boise State, and Utah State were taking a look at him.
Just to show what an athlete this kid is, he was also the Colorado state champion in shot put and discus.
