Oklahoma Sooners at UCLA Bruins Game Thread

Only 8% of Bruin fans believe the program is moving in the right direction under Chip Kelly, but today is another chance for Kelly to change people’s minds. Expectations are so low that virtually no one is giving UCLA a chance today.

The Vegas line for today’s game opened with the Sooners as a 21-point favorite. Well, that apparently wasn’t enough as the line has moved to as many as 24.5 points yesterday with Bovada before it came back down to 23.5 this morning.

The over/under consensus looks to be 72 points, but that seems low to me, given the fact that I expect the Sooners to put up around 60 points on their own.

The bottomline is that today’s game is likely to get ugly, which reminds me of the cheer from the Goldie Hawn movie Wildcats. “U-G-L-Y! You ain’t got no alibi! You ugly!”

If it gets that bad and Chip Kelly doesn’t play Austin Burton at all, there will, in fact, be no alibi.

Game Time Weather Forecast

It’s going to be another hot one today at the Rose Bowl. How hot? It’s actually going to be hotter than last Saturday and last Saturday was brutal. It will be a sweltering 95° at kickoff and it’s going stay in the 90s until at least halftime.

Fans will finally get a bit of relative relief in the second half when the temperature should drop a few degrees into the upper-80s and it should drop to the low- to mid-80s by the end of the game.
