Tonight, the Bruins look to get to .500 for the first time under Chip Kelly when they visit the #7 Utah Utes. Tonight’s game will determine whether UCLA will play Southern Cal next week with the Pac-12 South title on the line.

I don’t know if anyone is giving the Bruins much of a chance tonight, but it sure is nice to have the Bruins playing meaningful games in November for the first time in a long time.

Personally, I’m hopeful that the program has turned the corner under Chip Kelly, but, even with that hope, I’m still concerned that UCLA just isn’t there yet when it comes to competing tonight. I will be happy to be wrong about that.

It’s a night game in Salt Lake City in November which means the elements could affect tonight’s game. Let’s look at the game time weather forecast.

Game Time Weather Forecast

Well, the good news is there isn’t any snow in the forecast for tonight’s game, but it will be the coldest game of the year that the warm weather Bruins have played. Hopefully, Chip Kelly’s morning practices have been cold enough to acclimate the team to tonight’s temperatures.

In fact, it will be clear and the temperature will be a chilly 47° degrees at kickoff. Look for the temperature to dip into the mid-40s by halftime. It will remain clear for the duration of the game, but it will continue to cool off to around 40° by the time the game ends.

It does look like there will be a steady 4 mph wind throughout the game, though the direction of the wind will shift from the NNW at kickoff to the NNE at halftime and eventually to the East in the second half. That will add a 2 to 3° wind chill making it feel a little colder than it really is. That won’t matter as much until late in the second half when it makes it feel like the temperature is in the mid-to-upper 30s.
