UCLA Bruins at Memphis Tigers Game Thread

The Bruins need to avoid looking ahead to next week’s Stanford game.

This morning’s game has the makings of a potential trap game.

It’s an early morning game. It’s on the road. It’s against an opponent the Bruins may not care much about because they are a non-conference opponent. There’s a much larger game looming on the horizon next week when the team travels to Palo Alto.

But, UCLA cannot fall into the potential trap.

They need to pick up where they left off offensively against Hawai’i, just like they picked up where they left off against Texas A&M last week.

The bigger questions for the Bruins right now are on defense. Which guys will be healthy enough to play today? Will Kenny Young and Jaleel Wadood be able to go? If not, will the “next man up” philosophy work? Can the defensive line and linebackers stop the run effectively? Will UCLA play its base defense or primarily play the nickel?

These are just a few of the questions that can be asked about the defense. We will certainly get answers to at least a few of these questions when the Bruins and Tigers kickoff.

Let’s look at the weather conditions that teams will deal with.

Game Time Weather Forecast

The weather forecast looks good for today’s game. It should be partly cloudy and 84 degrees when the Bruins and the Tigers kickoff. It will be a little more humid than the Bruins are used to as the humidity will be about 63% and that will make it feel like it’s 89 degrees.

By halftime, the temperature should rise a bit to 86 degrees and the humidity should drop slightly to 56% making it feel like 92 degrees.

In the second half, the temperature will peak at 87 degrees while the humidity will make it feel like 92.

There’s a 0% chance of rain for most of the game, although that does increase to a 5% chance in the fourth quarter.
