South Dakota Coyotes at UCLA Bruins Game Thread

UCLA welcomes South Dakota to Pauley Pavilion in the first game ever between the two schools.

Tonight, the UCLA Bruins face the South Dakota Coyotes. For our readers who went to Southern Cal, South Dakota pronounces their mascot name as “Ky-oats” not “Ky-oaties.”

Now that that’s out of the way, the Bruins need to focus on winning tonight’s game. If there are able to do that, they will pick up their first win against an opponent with a winning record. If they can’t, they will take a three-game losing streak with them to New Orleans where they will face the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.

After Saturday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bearcats, it’s easy to see how this team could lose tonight’s game. It’s almost as if Steve Alford hit pause right after the “Fire Alford” banner flew and hit play at the start of this season.

It’s clear how much both Lonzo Ball, TJ Leaf and the rest of the guys who left after last season (including Bryce Alford) did to help last year’s team win.

If Alford can’t get this season turned around and fast, I could easily see a “Fire Alford” movement resuming quickly.
