Washington Huskies at UCLA Bruins Game Thread

Can the Bruins close out 2017 with a win?

NCAA Basketball: Washington at UCLA Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Obviously, the Washington Huskies no longer have Markelle Fultz, but they also no longer have Lorenzo Romar, who is now an assistant at Arizona. And, that means that the Huskies have added by subtracting.

They have a new coach in Mike Hopkins and they are much improved over last season. Hopkins comes to the Huskies after spending 21 years on the staff of Jim Boeheim at Syracuse.

Despite being named Head Coach-Designate for the Orange, Hopkins opted to move back to the West Coast. Hopkins grew up in Orange County and played his high school basketball at Mater Dei. So, this weekend is a bit of a homecoming for Hopkins.

He’s gotten the Huskies playing much better basketball in a short period of time. In fact, in just 14 games, Hopkins has already passed the Huskies’ win total of nine from last season.
