UCLA Bruins at UC Berkeley Golden Bears Game Thread

The Bruins look for a road split when they cross San Francisco Bay to face the Golden Bears.

After another overtime collapse, Steve Alford and the Bruins need to win this afternoon’s game against UC Berkeley. On paper, UCLA should have won Thursday’s game against Stanford, but the team choked away a double-digit lead for the second time this season.

While the players may be tired after playing double overtime against the Cardinal, they need to bounce back from Thursday’s loss. The biggest thing the Bruins can do to make sure they win today is to hit their free throws. That was one of the biggest problems on Thursday night.

Youth and inexperience cannot be excuses this afternoon as UC Berkeley’s team is younger and even more inexperienced than the Bruins. But, the Bears did beat Stanford last weekend and UCLA couldn’t.

UCLA needs to come out focused and determined after losing that game on Thursday. Will they? We’ll see. If this year’s team has established an identity, that would be inconsistency. Which Bruin team will show up?
