Tonight, the UCLA men’s basketball team hosts the Loyola Marymount Lions in a Sunday night game at Pauley Pavilion.
This game is the second of four games UCLA will play at Pauley on this homestand before hitting the road for two games before Christmas.
While the Bruins should be able to beat the Lions, it may be tough. That’s because, so far, LMU is undefeated this season. Of course, they haven’t played anyone in the Top 25 like the Bruins have, but UCLA can’t look past the Lions to next Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.
As we pointed out in our preview of tonight’s game, the Bruins need to focus on stopping James Batemon and Mattias Markusson.
Of course, the one thing UCLA can’t really account for is coaching. The Lions are led by Mike Dunlap who has been a head coach at both the college and pro levels. Can Dunlap out-coach Steve Alford? We’ll find out tonight.
