Liberty Flames at UCLA Bruins Game Thread

The Bruins look to snap their three-game skid, but that may be harder than it looks on paper.

In our preview of this afternoon’s game, I explained how the Flames could give the Bruins problems today. It comes down to two things, really: 3-pointers and defense. Liberty handles both of these aspects of the game well.

And that could end up with the Bruins losing their fourth game in a row.

At this point, it might be a loss to Liberty that could tip the scales against Steve Alford finishing the season.

I’m writing this game thread in advance because UCLA offered me a pair of free tickets for filling out the annual football season ticket holder survey, but I’m definitely wondering a few things about this afternoon’s game.

How empty will Pauley Pavilion be today? And, how loudly Bruin fans will voice their displeasure at Steve Alford’s continued employment? If Liberty wins, will we hear chants of “Fire Alford!” or “Alford Must Go!”? I honestly don’t know, but if UCLA doesn’t win, I may start a chant or two.
