Steve Alford is content with where his team is at. That can only mean one thing: The Bruins are poised for another letdown at home.
Between that and the fact that UCLA actually lost to the Beavers in Corvallis last month, this game is set up as a trap game for the Bruins.
The fact is that UCLA doesn’t necessarily need to win tonight as much as the Bruins need to not lose. Sure, a win would help the Bruins chances of winning the Pac-12 regular season title, but the last time I checked, UCLA doesn’t hang Conference Championship banners in Pauley Pavilion. Who do you think we are? Arizona?
Yes, heading into tonight, UCLA is tied for second place with Southern Cal, two games behind the Wildcats. (How big does Saturday’s loss to Arizona State look now?)
But, it’s alright. Everything’s alright. Because Steve Alford is happy where his team is right now. Will he be in a few hours? I’m not so sure.

But, feel free to listen to the audio here, instead of to the Fox Sports 1 audio.
