With tonight’s UCLA game against Southern Cal being the last Pac-12 game of the regular season, we have a much better idea as to how the seeding will work out for the Pac-12 Tournament next weekend.
Arizona has won the regular season title. Personally, I was disgusted watching them cut down their nets after they beat UC Berkeley a little while ago.
Stanford’s loss to Arizona on Thursday cements second place for Southern Cal, regardless of the outcome of tonight’s game.
Meanwhile, Oregon lost to Washington State on Thursday and then beat Washington today. As a result, both the Ducks and Huskies now have eight losses.
Utah’s win over Colorado earns the Utes the number three seed due to Utah’s win over Stanford and their split with UCLA.
If UCLA wins tonight’s game against Southern Cal, they will be the four seed because of UCLA’s win over Arizona. If UCLA loses tonight, Stanford will be the four seed, Oregon will get the fifth seed and the Bruins will be seeded sixth.
So, it all comes down to a rivalry game on the road to determine whether UCLA has to play a first-round game against UC Berkeley in the Pac-12 Tournament or not.
And, Bruin fans across the country are counting on Steve Alford to lead the Bruins to victory. Forgive me if I don’t like UCLA’s chances tonight.
At least, we have Bill Walton to entertain us.
